The Eagle Hotel (now a business site), was owned at one time by the McIlhenny family, whose son, Edmund, invented Tabasco Sauce. Edmund was born on the second floor, fronting on West Washington Street. William Henry Harrison stayed here in April 1841 on his way to be inaugurated our ninth President.
